We are now in Australia and have begun the most amazing Australia Adventure. We flew from Auckland to Sydney on Weds 26th of June and were met by my sister and boyfriend who live in Manly. It was so lovely to see my sister (Kat) as I haven’t seen her since Christmas, and also great to meet Darren – her boyfriend – for the first time. Darren very kindly gave us a lift back to their lovely flat in Manly.
Over the next few days we spent some time exploring in Manly, and also explored the beautiful Northern Beaches. On Thursday Kat took us on a tour north of Manly and we stopped at loads of beautiful beaches along the way. I think our favourite was Bilgola beach – with its gorgeous orangey sand and spectacular waves. We watched them crash over the sides of the tidal pool. We stopped at a lookout just up from there and it was great to see the beaches from up high. We also stopped by the side of the road and saw some amazing cockatoos in the wild! It was funny because John tried to feed them some nuts (as Kat usually feeds the cockatoos that visit her balcony), and it bit his finger twice! He was ok though 🙂 And it was great to see loads of them happily wandering around. Palm beach was another favourite, where we saw Home and Away filming nearby and also took a lovely walk along the beach. The weather was mostly beautiful too, although it did cloud up a little as the day passed. We LOVED exploring the beaches and it was wonderful to be able to spend time at such beautiful beaches and so close to the big city of Sydney – and with my lovely hubby and big sister too 🙂
